Noah Invasion!

Good morning, everyone!  A cold front finally came in yesterday, and it’s “starting” to feel like fall!  Yup..gotta take advantage of it before it starts getting warm and humid again…very soon…  Come on out blazers, scarves, and FALL!

On Saturday, the hubby and I drove down to Houston to spend time with my family.  My brother just came back from Korea recently, and my mom will be going later this week.  And of course, I needed wanted to see my irresistibly adorable nephew, Noah.  Oh…and my sister, I suppose ;).

Tim and I left first thing in the morning.  Since we had to come back that same evening, I offered to drive on our way down.  He’s not a morning person, but I am.  However, my offer was quickly rejected.  I still can’t figure out if it’s bc he’s trying to be a gentleman or he’s just terrified of my driving.  I want to say it’s the latter.  In any case, I didn’t complain ;)..and off we went…

Kona behaved very well!  It doesn’t mean he enjoyed the ride though…

Kona was not happy back there…I think he got tired of taking pictures..he finally said enough already and turned his head away!

I tricked my family into thinking that we had overslept and weren’t going to make it, so when we showed up at the door, my mom just came out running so excited to see us!  I know it’s a cruel thing to do, but don’t you just love reactions such as those?  I think I shall continue…

We said hello to everyone, but this little guy, who’s 7 mo. old btw, got the most attention!  Can you blame me?

I just woke up extra early to see my auntie and uncle!  I’m a lil’ puff…

Using my legs to stand up on his own!  He’s quite the persistent one!

Noah was quite smitten with Kona.  At first, he was intimidated by this black 4-legged creature next to him.  “What are you?”  Then Noah got brave..”May I touch you? Ok, here I go…ahh..thank you, you’re my friend.”

As you will quickly see (if you haven’t caught on already), our day consisted of playing with Noah and going out to eat.

Let’s take a break, although it’s so hard I know, from gawking over Noah and look at our day of eats…  Here’s what I ordered vs. Tim’s selection.  Can you guess who ordered what?  Take a wild guess…

Hope this wasn’t a head-scratcher…For lunch we went to Sushi-Jin where I ordered the rainbow roll, which was quite disappointing I must say, and Tim had the katsu don (in case you don’t know, it’s white rice topped with caramelized onions, scrambled egg, and breaded and fried pork cutlet strips).  Once again, I had meal envy.  For dinner, we went to Cafe Express, and I had basil pesto chicken with steamed broccoli and sweet potato fries while Tim, of course, ordered a Southwest burger with regular french fries.  I’m happy to say that I was quite content with my dish this time!  As for dessert, we headed next door to Ooh la la dessert boutique.  I had the chocolate mint chip gelato while Tim enjoyed his salted caramel apple cupcake.  My mom said my gelato tasted like toothpaste.  My sister and I beg to differ.  It was so delightfully refreshing!

What did Noah eat, you may wonder?  For lunch he had tofu, black beans, and sweet potato.  Here’s what he thought..

He wasn’t a fan..but he ate it like a trooper!  So proud of him!  He DOES, however, LOVE his rice crackers!

We love you, Noah darling!  You have us all wrapped around your chubby little fingers!

Do you know what else is marvelous?  Instagram!  Ok, I know it’s been around for a while now.  Heck, I had an account, too.  I just never used it.  Well, needless to say, I got addicted to it this weekend, hence all the instagram pictures you see here on this post.  I am clearly hooked and amused ;).

This just about wraps up my MIMM edition!  Thank you, Katie, my dearest, for your creativity and contagious positivity!

  1. Haha I love when you post pics of Noah- he is such a cutie! Your weekend with your family sounds wonderful and loving your eats, Min! I’m with you on mint choc chip ice cream- fab choice! The best kind is from Baskins & Robbins…I don’t know what they do different but their mint choc chip always taste best! Although I gotta say, the flavor of Tim’s cupcake sounds right up my alley too!

Oh. My. Goodness. Noah is SO cute! I have to admit… I’m not usually big on babies. They are sometimes kind of cute. But oh my, Noah is darling!! I just want to squeeze those little cheeks 🙂 Kona looks like he was a very good boy with Noah – hopefully he wasn’t too unhappy about not getting all the attention!

I’ve actually never had gelato but I would love to try it sometime. Maybe I’ll have to go to Italy one day just for that. Tim’s burgers are always making me want one! I actually had a big craving for them a couple weeks ago and so we barbecued them while I was home visiting my family.

I hope school is still going well – this semester is flying by!

Kona is really really great with kids! He doesn’t bite or move suddenly..he just sits there and sniffs occasionally. He likes to be in your face..You’ve never had gelato? I’m sure ones in Italy are out of this world, but you can find some really delicious ones here! I think i’ve had my share of burgers for now haha. Aww..I hope you had a wonderful time with your family!
The semester sure is flying by! Oh, November is going to be tough…YOu hang in there too!

You know, Kona’s really amazing with kids! He just sniffs and sits next to them. You can tell that he really likes the lil’ ones ;). You never know. Harleyyy may really surprise you hehe

  6. You look so cute in your fall outfit! I love the boots over leggings and the scarf 🙂 There will be no more such outfits for me, unless we travel. I used to love wearing leggings and my Uggs during winter, my toes were so comfy and warm 🙂

I’m so glad you got to spend some time with family this weekend, how fun!! Noah is the cutest little guy, I love all his expressions!! Wow, I’m so impressed that he’s eating tofu and black beans, your sister is doing a great job 🙂 And that pumpkin hat, adorable! What is he going to be for Halloween? I haven’t gotten a costume for Ryan yet, but Malia wants to be a butterfly!

I have yet to start using Instagram! I’ve been debating about it, since I’m starting to use Twitter more. Should I do it?? 🙂

    • Min says:

Maura, I’m so sad…fall came and went. I wish we got to stay longer than a day. The day just flew by, but I’m glad that we were able to see everyone! Noah eats just about everything. However, he didn’t really like this combination as you can see in the pictures..I think my sis should add some bananas, apples, etc to sweeten it up. My sister said she ordered a pumpkin outfit for him.
Aww..Malia’s going to be a beautiful butterfly! First Halloween for Ryan! How exciting!!

As for instagram, I think you should def use it! it’s quite addictive, though hehe

  7. Min you are so cute in your scarf and boots! I love surprising people like that 🙂 I’m so glad you got to spend time with your family! And baby Noah is just as cute as ever. Also, Darin is scared of my driving and always offers to drive 🙂 Love all the photos! Glad you had a great weekend!

    • Min says:

Yup! I love fall clothes! Too bad I don’t get to wear them too often…it transitions straight from summer to winter…I go from wearing nothing to looking like a marshmallow

  11. Jess says:

Oh my gosh he is sooo cute! What a little doll! I would want to visit him too. Love your boots as well. I hate cold weather but I kinda prefer winter clothes!

    • Min says:

I have so many pictures of him that people think he’s my son! And I agree w you! I get cold very easily so winters are a lil’ rough..but I love bundling up!
